Description

The Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich combines golden, crunchy chicken with fresh romaine, tangy Caesar dressing, and Parmesan, all tucked into a toasted bun. It’s a satisfying twist on a classic Caesar salad in sandwich form.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1/3 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shaved or grated
  • 24 sandwich rolls, brioche buns, or ciabatta
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • Optional: lemon juice, Dijon mustard, or anchovy paste (for homemade dressing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat oil in a skillet for frying.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Set up breading station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  4. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere.
  5. Bake chicken on a wire rack or fry in a skillet until golden brown and cooked through (165°F / 74°C).
  6. Toss romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing and optional lemon juice.
  7. Toast sandwich buns and spread with extra dressing.
  8. Assemble sandwich: place crispy chicken on the bun, top with dressed lettuce, add Parmesan, and finish with the top bun.
  9. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • Use grilled chicken instead of crispy for a lighter option.
  • Add bacon or a fried egg for extra indulgence.
  • Swap buns for wraps when you want something portable.
  • Add hot sauce or paprika for a spicy kick.
  • Try kale instead of romaine for a heartier green.
