- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions

- Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
- Season with additional salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and simmer 2–3 minutes, spooning sauce over them.
- Stir in lemon juice and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Avoid overcooking shrimp to prevent a rubbery texture.
- Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
- Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version.
- Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently and avoid freezing due to dairy-based sauce.
