Description

Creamy Garlic Chicken is a quick and comforting dish featuring golden-seared chicken in a luscious garlic cream sauce. Made in one pan and ready in under an hour, it’s perfect over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing)
  • 46 garlic cloves, minced or thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice or 1/4 cup white wine (for deglazing/brightness)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken on both sides until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add more oil/butter if needed. Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Deglaze with chicken broth (and wine, if using), scraping up browned bits.
  5. Add cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Let sauce thicken slightly, then stir in Parmesan if using.
  6. Return chicken to the pan. Spoon sauce over chicken and simmer a few more minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley or thyme. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice.

  • Add mushrooms or spinach for more texture and flavor.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half or whole milk instead of cream.
  • Unsweetened coconut milk makes a great dairy-free alternative.
