Description

This copycat Texas Roadhouse salmon recipe delivers tender, flaky fillets seasoned with a savory blend of spices and brushed with a zesty lemon-garlic butter glaze. It’s a quick and flavorful dish that brings restaurant-quality taste to your home kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Optional: lemon slices and fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the salmon fillets and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and lemon zest.
  3. Rub the seasoning mixture onto the flesh side of each salmon fillet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  6. Flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, depending on thickness.
  7. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. As the butter melts, spoon the garlic butter over the salmon fillets.
  8. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the salmon and continue to baste for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Check for doneness; the salmon should flake easily with a fork and reach an internal temperature of 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
  10. Remove the salmon from the skillet and garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
  • Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the salmon to achieve a good sear.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat to maintain moisture.
