Description

Chocolate banana oatmeal treat is a quick and healthy snack or breakfast made with ripe bananas, oats, and a touch of chocolate. Naturally sweetened and easy to customize, it’s perfect for satisfying sweet cravings without the guilt.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder or 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter (optional)
  • 12 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional add-ins: 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet or small pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mash bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Stir in oats, cocoa powder or chocolate chips, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and any optional add-ins.
  4. If mixture seems dry, add a splash of milk or water to reach desired consistency.
  5. Scoop spoonfuls for cookies or press mixture into prepared pan for bars.
  6. Bake cookies for 10–12 minutes or bars for 20–25 minutes, until set and lightly golden on edges.
  7. Cool before serving, or enjoy warm for a gooey texture.

Notes

  • Use quick oats for a softer texture or rolled oats for more chew.
  • Recipe can be made no-bake by chilling mixture instead of baking.
  • Add-ins like dried fruit or protein powder can enhance nutrition and flavor.
