Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast (grilled, shredded, or sliced)
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
- 4 slices of sourdough, ciabatta, or preferred bread
- 2 tsp butter or olive oil (for grilling)
- 2–4 slices cheese (mozzarella, provolone, Swiss, or cheddar)
- 4 tomato slices (optional)
- 4 red onion slices (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: mayonnaise, mustard, or garlic aioli for spreading
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side, layer chicken, cheese, avocado, and optional toppings.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Grill sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve hot, optionally with chips, salad, or soup.
