Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling (or homemade)
  • Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and almond extract if using.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  5. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the dough base.
