Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling (or homemade)
- Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and almond extract if using.
- Stir in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the dough base.

- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until top is golden and center is set.
- Let cool completely in the pan before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze if desired.
