Description

Cheesy Shrimp & Crab Bake is a creamy, indulgent seafood casserole packed with tender shrimp, sweet crab meat, and a blend of melty cheeses. Perfect as a main dish or appetizer, it’s easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb cooked shrimp, chopped if large
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp Old Bay or Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: hot sauce, to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs or extra cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, lemon juice, seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional hot sauce until smooth.
  3. Fold in shrimp, crab meat, green onions, cheddar, and mozzarella until well combined.
  4. Spoon mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Top with breadcrumbs or extra cheese if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
  7. Cool slightly, then serve with bread, crackers, rice, or pasta.

Notes

  • Use canned crab meat if fresh isn’t available—just drain and check for shells.
  • Sauté raw shrimp briefly before mixing if not pre-cooked.
  • Mix in chopped spinach, artichokes, or jalapeños for added flavor and texture.
  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • Make ahead and refrigerate unbaked mixture up to 24 hours before baking.
