Description

Cheesy Garlic Bread is a warm, crispy, and gooey comfort food classic made with garlic butter, herbs, and melted cheese—perfect as a side or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf baguette or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or basil, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter with garlic, herbs (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread garlic butter mixture evenly over each bread half.
  4. Top each half with shredded mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
  6. Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness, watching closely.
  7. Let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes or jalapeños for spice.
  • Use cheddar or pepper jack for variation.
  • Include cooked bacon or sausage for a heartier version.
  • Drizzle olive oil before baking for crisp texture.
