Description

Ingredients
- 1 slice thick-cut bread
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)
- 1 tsp butter or olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped herbs, red pepper flakes, sliced avocado, cooked bacon
Instructions
- Lightly toast bread if using soft slices.
- Press down the center of the bread to form a shallow well.
- Sprinkle cheese around the edges, leaving space in the center.
- Crack an egg into the center. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Place prepared toast in the skillet. Cover and cook for 4–6 minutes, until egg is set to your liking.
- Remove from skillet, garnish as desired, and serve hot.

- Use a bagel or English muffin instead of regular bread for variety.
- Add sliced tomatoes, spinach, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
