Description
Cajun Fries are crispy, golden fries seasoned with a bold, smoky, and spicy Cajun blend. They’re a flavorful twist on classic fries—perfect as a snack, side dish, or party appetizer.
Ingredients
- 3 large russet potatoes (or 1 lb frozen fries)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- If using fresh potatoes, peel (optional) and cut into thin fries. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
- In a large bowl, toss fries with oil and all Cajun seasoning spices until evenly coated.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. Or air fry at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway.
- If using frozen fries, cook per package instructions, then toss with seasoning while hot.
- Serve immediately with dipping sauces like ranch, spicy mayo, or ketchup.
Notes
- Add a pinch of brown sugar for sweet-spicy contrast.
- Use sweet potatoes instead of russets for variation.
- Parboil fries for extra crispiness before baking.
- Try dipping with garlic aioli or Cajun-spiced mayo.
