Description

Cajun Fries are crispy, golden fries seasoned with a bold, smoky, and spicy Cajun blend. They’re a flavorful twist on classic fries—perfect as a snack, side dish, or party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes (or 1 lb frozen fries)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. If using fresh potatoes, peel (optional) and cut into thin fries. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  2. In a large bowl, toss fries with oil and all Cajun seasoning spices until evenly coated.
  3. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. Or air fry at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway.
  4. If using frozen fries, cook per package instructions, then toss with seasoning while hot.
  5. Serve immediately with dipping sauces like ranch, spicy mayo, or ketchup.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of brown sugar for sweet-spicy contrast.
  • Use sweet potatoes instead of russets for variation.
  • Parboil fries for extra crispiness before baking.
  • Try dipping with garlic aioli or Cajun-spiced mayo.
