Description

Butterfinger Puppy Chow is a sweet, crunchy snack mix that’s an irresistible twist on the classic. With a buttery, chocolatey coating and crushed Butterfinger candy, it’s a bold, peanut butter-chocolate treat that’s perfect for parties, movie nights, or any time you want something snackable.

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice or corn Chex cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 3 Butterfinger candy bars, crushed (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  3. Stir in the crushed Butterfingers until evenly combined.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and gently fold everything together until fully coated.
  5. Transfer the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag or container with a lid. Add powdered sugar and shake until the cereal is fully coated and no longer sticky.
  6. Spread the mix out on a baking sheet to cool completely, then top with extra crushed Butterfingers for more candy crunch, if desired.

Notes

  • Mix in mini pretzels, peanuts, or mini marshmallows for added texture.
  • Use Butterfinger baking bits if you don’t have candy bars, or swap in Reese’s or chopped toffee bars for a twist.
  • For a lighter version, try using white chocolate and peanut butter with crushed Butterfingers.
  • Store the puppy chow in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For longer freshness, keep it in the fridge. Freezing is also an option for up to 1 month.
