Description
Better Than Anything Bars are a decadent dessert featuring layers of graham cracker crust, caramel, chocolate, and whipped topping. Perfect for parties, these bars are easy to make and irresistibly indulgent.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup caramel sauce or melted caramel candies with a splash of cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip or homemade stabilized whipped cream)
- Optional: 1/2 cup toffee bits
- Optional: 1/4 tsp sea salt
- Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the texture resembles wet sand. Press into the prepared pan to form a crust.
- Bake the crust for 8–10 minutes, then let it cool. For a no-bake version, use extra butter and chill until firm.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cooled crust and spread evenly.
- Drizzle or layer caramel sauce over the condensed milk, then sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Bake again for 10–12 minutes until everything is melted and slightly bubbly, or chill the no-bake version until set.
- Let cool completely, then spread whipped topping over the bars.
- Sprinkle with toffee bits, chopped nuts, and sea salt if using.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Chill the bars well before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- Freeze with parchment between layers and thaw before serving.
- Use stabilized whipped cream if making ahead.
- Customize with different chips, crusts, or toppings.
