Description
Beef & Parmesan Tortellini in Creamy Sauce is a comforting and indulgent one‑pan meal combining cheesy tortellini and savory ground beef in a rich, garlicky Parmesan cream sauce. It’s hearty, satisfying, and comes together quickly — perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 12 oz cheese tortellini (fresh, refrigerated, or frozen)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 12 oz ground beef
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning or dried herbs (optional)
- 1 cup heavy cream (or thickened cream / half‑and‑half)
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using), and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Pour in the cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Let the sauce thicken slightly (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, gently tossing to coat them in the creamy sauce.
- Let everything simmer together for 2–3 minutes so flavors meld. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot, with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Frozen tortellini works great — just be sure to cook per package directions before adding to sauce.
- For a lighter sauce, substitute part of the heavy cream with milk or half‑and‑half; you may need a bit more Parmesan to help thicken it.
- To add more veggies or make it a fuller meal, stir in baby spinach, peas, or mushrooms just before adding the tortellini.
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes when sautéing onion and garlic.
- Leftovers store well covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of cream or milk to loosen the sauce if it thickens.
