Description

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup water or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact.
  3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Fill the center of each apple with the sugar mixture and optional raisins or nuts.
  5. Top each apple with a small piece of butter.
  6. Place apples in a baking dish and pour water or apple juice into the bottom.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes until apples are tender.
