Ingredients
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chopped apples and nuts, if using.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan before slicing into squares and serving.

- Can substitute half the apples with pears for variation.
