Description

A quick, crispy, and melty snack combining grilled cheese sandwiches with juicy hot dogs, perfectly cooked in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 8 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • 8 slices cheddar or American cheese
  • Butter, softened
  • Optional: mustard or ketchup for serving

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the unbuttered side, layer one slice of cheese, place a hot dog, add another slice of cheese.
  3. Top with a second bread slice, buttered side out.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Place sandwiches in a single layer inside the air fryer basket.
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning and melting.

Notes

  • Add sliced jalapeños or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Use pepper jack cheese for a spicy twist.
  • Drizzle barbecue sauce or sriracha before air frying for added zest.
  • Press sandwiches gently when assembling to prevent cheese from leaking.
  • Butter helps achieve a golden, crispy crust but can be omitted.
