Description

Crispy, golden air fryer fries tossed with savory garlic, Parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs. These homemade fries are perfectly tender inside with a crunchy exterior, all without deep frying.

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut potatoes into even fry-shaped sticks.
  2. Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat completely dry.
  3. Toss potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  5. Arrange fries in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. While fries cook, sauté minced garlic in a small pan with a light drizzle of olive oil for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Transfer hot fries to a large bowl and toss immediately with sautéed garlic and grated Parmesan.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, toss potatoes with 1 teaspoon cornstarch before air frying.
  • Leave the skins on for added texture and flavor.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Add red pepper flakes for heat or smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Serve with garlic aioli, ranch, or marinara for dipping.
