Description

These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are a crispy, tangy snack with a seasoned panko coating, made lighter and quicker in the air fryer. Perfect as an appetizer or game-day treat, they deliver all the crunch and flavor of the deep-fried version—without the mess.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dill pickle chips or slices, patted dry
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil mister

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with panko, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper mixed together.
  3. Pat pickles dry with a paper towel.
  4. Dip each pickle slice in flour, then egg, then coat with the panko mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Place breaded pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with oil.
  6. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve immediately with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Add cayenne to the panko for extra heat.
  • Use seasoned breadcrumbs or Parmesan for flavor variation.
  • Use almond flour and gluten-free panko for a gluten-free version.
  • Great with ranch, spicy mayo, or garlic aioli for dipping.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 375°F for 3–4 minutes.
